Designer : Eugeni Quitllet

The Catalan designer Eugeni Quitllet was born on 1972 in Ibiza. He graduated from ‘La Llotja’ art school in Barcelona. Through his creative vocabulary he exceeds simple relationships between function and style unveiling innovative objects. Between drawing, sculpture and contemporary archaeology, Quitllet literally reveals silhouettes hidden in the material, extremely visual skeletal objects elegantly master fullness and emptiness often with a touch of humour.

In 2001, he met Philippe Starck and they soon went on to develop a strong partnership. They designed together several iconic chairs for Kartell: Mr Impossible (2006) and the Masters chair (2009).

Since the opening of its studio, Eugeni Quitllet is working for international brands like Alias, Driade, Flos, Kartell, Vondom.

Eugeni Quitllet loves exploring the very essence of objects, reveals silhouettes hidden in the material. He could design simple and natural forms (Africa chair for Vondom), sensual forms (Mari-Sol table for Vondom), or use strong graphic elements (Light Air lamp for Kartell).
